Job Summary
Develop and implement the strategic plan and vision set by the Board, while overseeing day-to-day operations including financial management, personnel oversight, and community engagement. Prepare activity and financial reports for monthly Board meetings, interpret federal, state, and tribal regulations, and manage grant applications and budgets to ensure sound financial stewardship. Lead clinic expansion projects for new specialty services such as dental care, obstetrics, and pediatrics, while maintaining security controls and fostering a cooperative work environment. Represent the organization before the Governor, Council, and community partners, and pursue continuing education in healthcare administration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Public/Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field from an accredited college or university
- Minimum Five (5) years of senior-level leadership experience
- Demonstrated visionary leader experienced in developing, updating and executing strategic plans
- Demonstrated experience in collaboratively working with Board(s) of Directors providers, staff, community partners, and the community as a whole
- Skilled in effective organizational and program management
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage operations efficiently and cost effectively
- Ability to oversee the development of new protocols, policies, and procedures
- Mission-driven, highly collaborative, and capable of providing strong leadership to both the clinic and administrative functions
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals and situations, including strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Cross-cultural competency and ability to understand and respond appropriately, effectively, and sensitively to populations served by LHC
- Demonstrated ability to work with automated systems, including MS Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other software and applications needed to advance LHC's objectives
- Ability to travel for training and collaborate with other organizations and agencies
- Extensive knowledge of grants management and tribal government operations
- Working knowledge financial management, compliance and quality programs, revenue cycle management/3rd party revenues, budget preparation and fiscal management
- Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
- Knowledge of organization structure, workflow, and operating procedures within a fast-paced medical delivery system
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, through concise reports, memoranda, directives, emails and letters
- Must possess and demonstrate good writing, spelling, proofing, grammar and punctuation skills
- Must have ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents
- Ability to respond effectively and in a timely manner to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
- Ability to supervise and develop employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
Desired Qualifications
- Master Degree in related field
- American College Executive Healthcare
- Experience in an Indian Health Service or Tribal Clinic healthcare setting
