Job Summary
Lead a Zambian Microfinance Institution as Chief Executive Officer, guiding strategic leadership and executive management to ensure sustainable growth, profitability, regulatory compliance, risk management, and long-term business sustainability. Drive Board-approved strategy, foster a high-performance culture, manage stakeholder relationships, and oversee governance, strategic planning, operations, credit/portfolio management, business development, financial management, risk and compliance, human capital, and stakeholder engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with five (5) credits or better, including English Language and Mathematics (ZAQA certified copy)
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Banking, Commerce, Management, Law, or a related field (ZAQA certified copy)
- A Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Economics, Strategic Management, Leadership, or an equivalent qualification will be an added advantage (ZAQA certified copy)
- Membership to a relevant professional body with a valid practising licence
- Minimum of ten (10) years' relevant experience in banking, microfinance, financial services, or a related sector, with at least five (5) years at senior management or executive leadership level
- Demonstrated experience in strategic leadership, business development, financial management, and stakeholder engagement
- Sound understanding of the microfinance industry and its regulatory environment
- Strong leadership, corporate governance, decision-making, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- High levels of integrity, professionalism, analytical thinking, and confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant business systems
