Job Summary
Develop full project estimates by analyzing drawings, specifications, and contracts to prepare scope breakdowns, material take-offs, and cash flow schedules. Lead the estimation process for complex civil infrastructure projects, including rail, transit, and water systems, by applying Shimmick's estimating systems and cost structures. Quantify impacts from project actions and assumptions, while providing guidance to less experienced personnel on standard techniques and Earned Value Management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 10 years of relevant experience
- demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Experience leading estimating processes for complex civil infrastructure projects
- Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
- Must have United States work authorization
Desired Qualifications
- Estimating experience in Rail/Transit, Bridge, and/or water/wastewater treatment plant projects
- Familiar with financial analysis (NPV, ROIC, ROCE)
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequences
- Understands estimating terminology and measures and recognizes processes/project actions that may impact the project
