Job Summary
Lead, manage, and develop the estimating team by establishing performance expectations, training staff on project reviews through pricing submission, and coaching them to identify project-specific risks and indirect costs. Oversee all tender opportunities, review drawings and specifications, lead bid strategy and no-bid decisions, and conduct final estimate reviews to verify scope coverage and profitability. Modernize estimating procedures, workflows, and standards while developing scalable systems and best practices for bid reviews, risk assessment, and project handoffs. Strengthen collaboration between estimating and operations, participate in project kickoffs, and ensure estimates align with company profitability objectives.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
- 3-5 years of leadership experience managing estimating teams
- Extensive experience in commercial steel stud framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, insulation, and related interior systems
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, specifications, tender documents, and procurement processes
- Proven experience managing multiple concurrent tenders and bid deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop estimating teams
- Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
Desired Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Technology, Engineering, or related field
- Quantity Surveying designation or education
- Experience with On-Screen Takeoff (OST), WinBid, Bluebeam, Procore, and Microsoft Excel
- Gold Seal Certification
