Job Summary
Lead and oversee all estimating and preconstruction activities, developing standards and continuous improvement initiatives. Manage department staffing, workload, recruiting, and team development while mentoring estimators to foster a high-performing culture. Drive pursuit strategies for complex commercial projects by reviewing budgets, GMPs, and proposals in partnership with Operations and Executive Leadership. Build relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors while overseeing value engineering, constructability reviews, and risk assessments. Monitor market trends, pricing, and subcontractor capacity to champion innovation in estimating technology and systems. Contribute to strategic planning and long-term company growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- 10+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
- 5+ years of estimating leadership or management experience
- Proven experience leading negotiated work, conceptual estimating, budgeting, and preconstruction services
- Demonstrated success managing large, complex commercial construction pursuits
- Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, procurement, project delivery, and risk management
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing estimating teams
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and client relationship skills
- Proficiency with estimating software, project management platforms, and construction technology
