Job Summary
Lead the estimating team in preparing full-scope electrical proposals for industrial facilities ranging from new construction to maintenance, covering projects up to $20M across energy, mining, and manufacturing sectors. Coordinate bid meetings and site walk-throughs to define project scope, review technical drawings and specifications, and incorporate historical data from purchase orders and subcontracts into accurate unit and man-hour figures. Manage project turnover, evaluate field change orders, and secure optimal material and subcontracting costs by analyzing multiple quotes. Track RFP submissions, win/loss rates, and develop the historical cost database and standardized cost codes. Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to finalize bids while evaluating the proposal process for continuous improvement. Requires 5+ years of heavy industrial electrical estimating experience, ability to travel periodically, and valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of heavy industrial or process‐facility experience in cost estimating and cost control within the Electrical field
- strong knowledge of estimating techniques and engineering disciplines required to perform work
- Must be able to estimate all types and sizes of projects
- preparing complex proposals with minimal supervision
- demonstrating knowledge of the industries in which Loenbro operates
- Ability to travel periodically to job sites
- completed OSHA or equivalent safety training
- hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- strong written and oral communication skills
- solid organizational capabilities
- the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- the capacity to manage occasional heavy workloads and quick turnaround timelines on estimates
