Job Summary
Chief Estimator for a confidential heavy civil construction firm seeks a senior leader to oversee all tunneling bid estimating. Responsible for leading, reviewing, and signing off on estimating activities for tunneling projects; conducting thorough review of contract plans and documents; supervising estimating personnel; identifying major items in RFQs/RFPs; soliciting quotations from major subs and suppliers; preparing HCSS takeoffs and comparison sheets; ensuring D/M/WBE requirements are met; developing clear write-ups for SOQ/RFP proposals; preparing bid documents; setting up JV bids; coordinating equipment procurement timelines; and maintaining dialogue with owners, JV partners, and the project team. Requires a Bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 10+ years of estimating and tunnel/heavy civil experience, with 5+ years leading estimating teams, plus proficiency with HCSS, Primavera P6, and Procore; travel up to 15-20%.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field of study
- 10+ years of relevant estimating, project management and/or construction experience
- 10+ years of tunneling and/or heavy civil project experience
- 5+ years of experience estimating on tunneling projects
- 5+ years of experience leading/supervising estimating teams
- Experience with HCSS, Primavera P6 and Procore or similar software
- Willingness to travel up to 15-20%
