Job Summary
Chief Estimator leads preconstruction and estimating for ultra-high-end luxury residential projects, overseeing the estimating department, developing budgets from concept through construction documents, and ensuring pricing accuracy and risk management. Responsibilities include building scalable estimating systems, managing bid processes and subcontractor coordination, guiding procurement and buyout, and delivering executive-level cost narratives and forecasts. Requires a track record of 10-15+ years in luxury residential construction, leadership of estimating teams, proficiency with Bluebeam/Excel/Procore/Sage, and strong client-facing communication. Compensation targets a base salary in the $225k–$300k range plus incentives; role is on-site in New York City, NY.
Required Qualifications
- 10-15+ years of estimating experience in luxury residential construction, custom homes, or high-end renovation
- Leadership experience managing estimating teams at the senior or executive level
- Proficiency in estimating software (Bluebeam, Excel, Procore, Sage)
- Strong communication, executive-presence, and client-facing skills
- Detail-driven, disciplined, and capable of delivering under tight deadlines
- Ideal candidates will have proven success developing multimillion-dollar budgets for architecturally complex projects
