Job Summary
The Chief EO/IR Architect will lead in all phases of system development for EO/IR systems, providing technical direction to project-specific engineering teams and interfacing with customers. Responsibilities include evaluating customer requirements, developing system architecture, executing design trades, and preparing for formal design reviews. A Bachelor's degree and extensive experience in relevant fields are required, alongside strong skills in system decomposition, technical writing, and cross-functional leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant work experience OR 10 years of relevant work experience with Master’s degree
- Decomposition of complex systems into logical building blocks
- Evaluation and definition of the optical, mechanical, electrical, and environmental inputs
- Program planning including scope definition, resourcing, and budgeting
- Proficient technical writing skills
- CONOPS development
- Technical leadership of cross-functional/discipline teams
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in architecting and/or developing imaging system solutions for spaceborne missions
- Knowledge of EO industry technical capabilities
- Familiarity with mission level performance requirements
- Familiarity with mission level phenomenology
Additional Requirements
- Due to contract requirements, U.S. citizenship is required
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
