Job Summary
Plan and execute preventive maintenance programs for hotel mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems while conducting regular inspections to prioritize repairs. Lead a team of maintenance staff through recruitment, training, and task assignment, ensuring all work is completed promptly and efficiently. Manage the department's budget by optimizing processes and negotiating vendor contracts, while overseeing safety audits, emergency response plans, and compliance with local regulations. Coordinate renovation projects with architects and contractors to meet timelines and cost targets. Maintain accurate records of activities, inspections, and warranties, and generate expense reports for management. Resolve guest maintenance issues immediately to enhance the guest experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field (preferred)
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry
- Strong knowledge of building systems, codes, and regulations
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Budgeting and cost control expertise
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when needed
- Physical work is a primary part of many of our hotel and resort jobs
