Job Summary
Plan and execute a preventive maintenance program for all hotel systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural elements. Conduct regular inspections to identify needs, prioritize repairs, and ensure tasks are completed promptly. Recruit, train, and supervise a team of maintenance staff while assigning tasks and providing coaching. Manage the department's budget by optimizing processes and negotiating vendor contracts. Ensure compliance with all safety codes, regulations, and industry standards through regular audits and emergency response planning. Coordinate renovation projects with architects and contractors to meet deadlines and budgets. Maintain accurate records of activities, inspections, and warranties while generating expense reports for management. Resolve guest-reported maintenance issues promptly to enhance the guest experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field (preferred)
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry
- Strong knowledge of building systems, codes, and regulations
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Budgeting and cost control expertise
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when needed
- Physical work is a primary part of many of our hotel and resort jobs
