Job Summary
Responsible for all aspects of the Engineering department's operation, maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and mechanical systems across the property. Lead and supervise engineering staff, delegate daily work, review priorities, and ensure safety compliance and proper handling/disposal of chemicals. Develop and coordinate maintenance programs to ensure safety, security, comfort of guests and staff, manage departmental budget, and conduct interviews, hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Maintain knowledge of codes (health, fire, plumbing, electrical, architectural), read blueprints, troubleshoot emergency situations, and uphold hotel standards. Requires bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; availability for weekends/holidays/variable shifts as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Any building trade license/certificate from the state of hotel’s operation preferred
- Minimum two years’ experience as a hotel maintenance engineer
- Supervisory experience preferred
