Job Summary
Lead overall system architecture for hardware and software, conducting trade studies and translating customer requirements into actionable specifications. Drive critical design decisions and collaborate with government customers to guide internal technical roadmaps for synthetic air combat training. Manage cross-functional teams to ensure subsystem integration meets product requirements and defense industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of relevant experience in system engineering, hardware design, and technical leadership roles for simulation, AR, VR, or related products in the defense, aerospace or related industries
- Proven expertise in system architecture design, with a strong emphasis on combined hardware/software systems and systems integration
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive decisions on complex technical issues and system trades
- Ability to perform system analysis to ensure subsystem specification, when all tied together, meet product requirements
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced technical degree
- Experience with Sensors (camera, time-of-flight), image processing
- Experience with virtual reality or augmented reality hardware (Rift, VIVE, Gear VR, etc.)
- Experience working with government customers and understanding of defense industry standards and protocols
- Experience designing complex electromechanical systems, and successfully getting those systems certified for DoD use
- Solid understanding of requirements management tools such as Jama or DOORs
