Job Summary
Lead the engineering team by managing hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluations while overseeing vendor oversight, departmental budgets, and preventative maintenance programs. Conduct daily walk-throughs to assess the safe operation of the physical structure, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, ensuring all projects meet brand standards and building codes. Execute guest response and preventive maintenance work orders, organize tools and materials, and maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, chemical handling, and key security procedures. Ensure life safety equipment is inspected and certified per code while managing critical situations such as fires or major mechanical failures.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience within a hotel setting
- Current pool certification or the ability to obtain certification
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience in maintenance
- Basic Computer skills to include processing emails, basic spreadsheet manipulation, and database/systems navigation including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
- Knowledge of Methods, and materials used in general building maintenance
- Knowledge of carpentry
- Knowledge of plumbing
- Knowledge of building and electrical units
- Knowledge of HVAC
- Must possess or can obtain a certified pool operator license
