Job Summary
Chief Engineer at a Bethany Beach resort responsibilities include leading energy management, preventive maintenance, and capital planning; overseeing renovations and contract negotiations to ensure on-time completion within budget; managing day-to-day staffing, setting performance goals, and providing mentoring and feedback; training staff on compliance with safety laws and regulations; ensuring a safe environment for guests and staff; maintaining guest satisfaction, grounds, and facility standards; executing a preventive maintenance program to keep facilities operational; managing parts and supplies with focus on reducing waste and supporting green initiatives; may serve as manager on duty and potentially oversee security; requires expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical and carpentry, with hotel/resort experience preferred and professional certifications/licensing may be necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Some college or advanced vocational training plus four years of experience in general building maintenance and/or construction or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Specialized expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical and carpentry fields
- Hotel or Resort experience preferred
- Professional certifications and license may be necessary
