Job Summary
Chief Engineer leads the technical delivery of a heavy equipment product series from concept through validation and launch; drives sustainment and new product development, defines validation strategies, leads cross-functional teams, and oversees DV/PV tests, design reviews, and root-cause problem solving to meet customer requirements, quality, timing, and cost targets. Responsible for machine-level and component-level validation, collaboration with manufacturing and external partners, and guiding product strategy while maintaining Autodesk Inventor-based vehicle architecture and supporting leadership with updates and budgeting input. Strong emphasis on leadership, engineering excellence, and delivering full-machine systems across material handling/construction/heavy equipment domains; requires hands-on leadership, global collaboration, and travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years of people leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of design and development practices for material handling, construction, agricultural, or other heavy equipment
- Experience balancing safety, quality, timing, and cost across multiple engineering projects
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and help teams prepare for future product development needs
