Job Summary
Lead Engineering & Maintenance Operations by overseeing day-to-day systems, equipment, and facilities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance. Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs while managing reactive breakdowns, contractor oversight, and statutory compliance inspections. Monitor energy consumption, support sustainability initiatives, and manage capital projects including refurbishments and cost forecasting. Recruit, train, and develop the engineering team while prioritizing guest impact and operational risk during emergencies. Act as the technical lead for major incidents and ensure business continuity procedures are executed effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in a hotel engineering, facilities or building-services environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and general building systems
- Experience managing an Engineering or Maintenance team
- Experience managing contractors and external service providers
- Good understanding of health, safety and statutory compliance requirements
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to prioritise multiple operational and maintenance requirements
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, particularly during emergencies and high-occupancy periods
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant engineering, electrical, mechanical or facilities management qualification is desirable
