Job Summary
Supervise, coordinate, and conduct maintenance aboard the Overlord Unmanned Surface Vessel (OMUSV), with primary responsibility for the propulsion system in port and underway. Perform and supervise scheduled and corrective maintenance, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and automated control systems. Prepare, preserve, and ensure cleanliness of the vessel and associated equipment while executing pre/post mission craft readiness functions. Participate in basic seamanship duties, vessel security, and visitor control under the supervision of the USV Master and Port Captain. Work rotating shifts of approximately 28 days on the vessel, including 12-hour daily rotations, while traveling to sea and port locations.
Required Qualifications
- USCG 4000hp or greater license
- Corresponding STCW certificates
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift 40lbs
- Ability and demeanor to share common spaces over lengthy deployment periods
- Ability to work closely with others in a small working area and in a shipboard environment
- Ability to communicate effectively
- US Citizen
- Ability to pass a background check and gain access to US Navy Facilities
- Ability to perform in an arduous duty environment
- Rotating shifts of approximately 28 days
- 12 hour shifts daily
