Job Summary
Chief Engineer overseeing building operations and maintenance for hi-rise/hotel-style community. Responsibilities include day-to-day maintenance with maintenance staff in a leadership role, development and adherence to preventive maintenance programs, supervising repairs by outside vendors, maintaining resident service standards, monitoring all building systems, and producing maintenance reports with updates and recommendations. Requires strong leadership, customer service, technical, and problem-solving abilities, plus competency in trades (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, painting), safety compliance, and proficiency with MS Word/Excel. Must balance multiple projects, stay organized, and be available for emergencies. Physical duties include working in varied conditions and occasional off-site meetings; schedule is full-time, exempt, with potential after-hours work.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- AA degree in industry
- Three to five years of supervisory maintenance experience in hi-rise building or hotel operations
- Strong working knowledge of basic trades (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, painting)
- Ability to analyze and interpret technical aspects of pumps and motors and mechanical systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Ability to respond to emergencies within 2 hours and be available for night/weekend emergencies
