Job Summary
Supervise engineering employees, interview, train, and coach staff while managing preventive maintenance programs for property and equipment. Prioritize service requests, test life safety systems, and monitor utility consumption to ensure guest safety and asset protection. Review purchase requests, control expenses, and maintain operational documentation to comply with corporate and local codes. Perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing, and operating power tools while driving occasionally for supplies. Work an 8-hour day shift with on-call and weekend availability, earning $50,000-$55,000 annually.
Required Qualifications
- One to two years of post high school education
- Two to three full years of full employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s)
- Advanced knowledge of the Building Management/Engineering profession
- Supervisory skills
- Ability to communicate with management and staff
- Ability to visually check hotel premises
- Ability to lift, push, pull and carry weights up to 25 lbs and greater
- Ability to bend and/or kneel throughout the day
- Mobility throughout the hotel, all floors, varying heights and distances
- Use of ladders and lifts
- Continuous standing throughout the day
- Climbing approximately 210 steps 10% of each day
- Climbing ladders approximately 20 feet 5% of each day
- Limited driving on an occasional basis for supplies, equipment, etc. Generally within 20 miles
- Work inside 95% of a week
- Outside 5% of a week
- Abnormal temperatures - walk-in freezers below 32 degrees - 1% of the time
- Operation of power hand tools (i.e. circular saw, drill)

- High school or equivalent
- Maintenance: 4 years
- Driver's License
