Job Summary
Chief Engineer responsible for supervising the implementation of property and equipment preventive maintenance and repairs, monitoring life safety systems and utilities, and administering the engineering department in compliance with corporate/franchise standards and codes. Lead and manage engineering-related capital projects, maintain mechanical/electrical systems and FF&E, overseeing facilities including grounds and pools. Requires comprehensive knowledge of building systems, ability to maintain records for Budget, PM Programs, and Capital Projects, and capable leadership to train and supervise staff, ensure safety, and maintain cost controls. Strong emphasis on safety, operation efficiency, and collaboration with hotel leadership to support guest experience.
Required Qualifications
- Vocational schooling, military training, certification and/or experience in building related trades (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience at a comparable location
- Knowledge of hotel operations, safety programs, and budget planning
- Ability to supervise, train, and manage performance of engineering staff
- Strong understanding of building systems (Electrical, HVAC, Life Safety, IT) and related equipment
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic accounting concepts
