Job Summary
Data Center Chief Engineer oversees maintenance and management of mechanical, electrical, and IT systems across the data center facilities. Responsible for drafting and maintaining SMRs, SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs; ensuring 100% uptime; directing maintenance contracts and oversight of outside contractors; contributing to project plans and budgets; communicating technical information to diverse audiences; and training staff on critical infrastructure and emergency procedures. Requires strong experience in industrial HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and control systems, building management systems, and facility operations, with a track record of budgeting, vendor management, and risk assessment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, bachelors degree and/or professional/technical certification in related field strongly preferred
- EPA Section 608 Technician Certification - Universal Type is highly desired
- 5 years of experience in a Data Center environment
- 10 yearsa experience related to building management
- 5 yearsa experience with building automation systems
- Experience in supervising others and managing projects
