Job Summary
Own the end-to-end architecture and delivery of the vehicle-to-mission interface layer, abstracting power, data, networking, and control into a common environment for mission kits. Architect compute modules for vehicle translation, firmware layers for communications, and software layers for B-kit integration while defining standardized APIs, data models, and ICDs. Lead cross-functional engineering execution from concept through production across hardware and software teams, partnering with OEMs and mission partners to drive platform adoption. Serve as the primary engineering contact for external and internal stakeholders, representing the business with decision-making authorities. Must travel up to 25% of the time.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, computer science, or related field
- Proven experience in designing new products and delivering hardware and software at scale
- 15+ years of experience in complex system architecture and integration
- 5+ years of experience leading multi-disciplined teams developing software enabled hardware products
- Expertise in vehicle electrical and power systems (12-28V architecture, conversion, distribution, and load management)
- Expertise in embedded systems and ruggedized compute platforms
- Experience applying safety-critical frameworks including hazard analysis and safety case development
- Proven ability to design system with fault isolation, fail-safe behavior, and non-interference – ensuring that mission systems cannot impact vehicle-critical functions
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time
Desired Qualifications
- Masters of Science degree in mechanical, electrical or systems engineering, computer science, or related field
- Strong technical, analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive decisions
- Experience with tools like JIRA and Confluence
- Exposure to land-based systems, particularly with DoW experience
- Holds Active Secret Clearance or higher
