Job Summary

Maintain property, equipment, and grounds in a safe state while ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal laws. Supervise and train engineering staff on customer service, standard operating procedures, and loss prevention. Create staff schedules and adhere to the annual department budget, actively participating in monthly profit/loss reviews. Develop preventative maintenance programs for all hotel equipment and ensure emergency systems are inspected and certified per Highgate Hotel standards. Review guest feedback to identify and correct issues promptly, handle room maintenance requests courteously, and respond immediately to alarms to determine causes and report findings. Assist with vendor contract administration, special projects, and renovations while supporting Highgate Hotel safety initiatives and programs.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of progressive facilities management experience in a hotel or a related field
  • 2-year college degree
  • 1 year of related management experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Stationary Engineer's license if required by local code
  • HVAC skills
  • Electrical skills
  • Plumbing skills
  • Boiler operations skills
  • General maintenance skills
  • Long hours
  • Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
