Job Summary
Maintain the hotel's appearance, equipment, and systems while supervising all work and repairs. Directly oversee the maintenance team, landscaping, and pool maintenance to ensure guest rooms and public areas remain pristine. Manage hiring, scheduling, training, and performance reviews for engineering staff to uphold service quality standards. Collaborate closely with vendors, contractors, and the Executive Housekeeper to execute service calls and maintain full OSHA compliance. Work seven days a week, 24 hours a day, in a AAA 4-Diamond rated resort known for its wellness focus and sustainable operations.
Required Qualifications
- Experience should include a minimum of 5 years prior building trade or hotel/motel engineering
- Working knowledge of basic hand tools and other trade related equipment
- Knowledge of OSHA standard and application for working with chemicals and practicing OSHA safety standards on all applicable jobs
- Knowledge of safe work practices
- Ability to train subordinates in proper safe work practices
- Visual ability to read manufacturers instructions, schematics and blueprints and to determine wire colors for safe repair and detect emergency situations
- Skill in use of a variety of skilled trade tools (both hand and electric)
- Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance at all times
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Occasionally lifting or pushing up to 80 lbs
- Ability to reach in all directions while standing on a ladder or scaffold at heights up to 30 feet
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders
- Ability to grasp, lift or carry objects weighing up to 80 lbs
- Ability to perform duties in extreme temperature ranges
- Must be willing and available to fulfill demands of seven days a week, 24 hours a day
- Must be able to walk, stand and sit
- Ability to climb and use balance
- Close vision and distance vision
