Job Summary
Oversee hotel maintenance operations by diagnosing mechanical defects, performing repairs on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, and conducting quality inspections. Supervise maintenance staff, manage preventative maintenance programs, and ensure compliance with safety standards and LBA guidelines. Respond promptly to work orders, train associates, and assist with guest service issues while maintaining accurate documentation. Interview and select new staff, manage discipline and retraining, and help property management determine necessary tools and materials. Work any shift including nights and weekends, with periodic overnight travel required.
Required Qualifications
- Honesty and trustworthiness
- Security clearances
- Working knowledge of preventative maintenance
- Working knowledge of electricity
- Working knowledge of AC
- Working knowledge of plumbing
- Five to ten years as a maintenance engineer or technician or similar position
- Knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, equipment, and materials used in a variety of building and mechanical trades
- Knowledge of occupational hazards in the use of power tools and equipment
- Knowledge of necessary safety precautions
- Knowledge of repairs and maintenance of furniture and fixtures within the hotel
- Knowledge of safety and security measures
- Knowledge of guidelines for training checklist of areas to be maintained
- Knowledge of procedures for emergencies Person In Charge
- Ability to assign and supervise the work of a few less experienced workers
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and upper management
- Ability to practice Safety Standards at all times
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to comply to all standards
- Ability to work within the budgetary guidelines

- Ability to push or pull 100 pounds unassisted
- Ability to lift and/or carry 60 pounds unassisted
- Ability to stand for eight hours
- Ability to bend, stretch, reach, climb ladders, crawl, kneel and be low to the ground when necessary
- Ability to see and hear
- Ability to communicate with other associates and/or guests
