Job Summary
Lead and coordinate delivery of planned and reactive maintenance services, overseeing all aspects of operations to ensure excellent standards and a safe environment. Prepare and monitor the annual departmental operating budget with a focus on energy management, preventive maintenance, and capital planning. Lead hotel renovations and projects, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely completion within budget while managing Health & Safety, statutory compliance, and risk assessments. Address guest concerns promptly and liaise with other departments to support continual improvement of property maintenance standards. Maintain and order parts and supplies efficiently, minimising waste to support green initiatives, and act as property leader for the brand's 'Green Engage' program. Coach, train, and support the team to provide consistently high standards. Perform Duty Manager shifts as required.
Required Qualifications
- Strong leadership skills with proven experience to manage a team
- Clear and influential communicator with the ability to interact across all levels
- Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of budgeting and cost control
- Proven experience to lead a green initiative for a large hotel
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs
- Proven experience in managing, coaching, challenging and developing teams
- Approachable and positive manner with a can do attitude
- Ability to use initiative in challenging situations and under pressure
- A smart and professional appearance
- Proven track record in a similar position within a 5-star hotel
- Recognised electrical or engineering qualification and specialised expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields
- Excellent understanding of Health and Safety regulations and best practices
- Strong knowledge of the operation, control and maintenance of building services plant and systems
- Previous experience using maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent standard of English, both written and spoken
Desired Qualifications
- Pool plant operator qualification preferred
