Job Summary
Oversee operations maintenance, service, and repair of all equipment while ensuring rooms and public spaces meet Aimbridge Hospitality standards. Manage the Engineering Department by training, supervising, and scheduling hourly staff, conducting performance appraisals, and handling hiring interviews. Coordinate fire safety inspections, emergency responses, and pool/spa compliance with health codes. Monitor energy expenses, manage budgeted purchases, and conduct daily property tours for debris removal and lighting checks. Evaluate staff and contractor work, handle guestroom maintenance requests, and maintain operational manuals and warranty files. Act as the emergency contact person and chair the Safety Committee to coordinate fire drills and training.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
- 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience
- 4-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience
- Supervisory experience
- Current Certification as required by Federal State or Local governing agents pertaining to trade requirements (i.e. HVAC pool operation electrical) property specific
- Current certification and licensing to operate and repair the hotels boilers and chillers as required by state city and local legislation
- Valid driver's license for the applicable state
- Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Ability to work well in stressful high pressure situations
- Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- Ability to be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary
- Ability to assimilate complex information data etc. from disparate sources and consider adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
- Ability to be effective at listening to understanding clarifying and resolving the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests
- Ability to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions
- Food Handlers certification

- First Aid certification
