Job Summary
Chief Engineer for Fury Programs at Anduril leads end-to-end lifecycle of a flagship unmanned aerial system, serving as principal technical authority and strategic orchestrator. Responsibilities include overseeing air vehicle and mission-system design, fabrication, testing, productization, and deployment; guiding strategic design trades with SMEs and Business Development; driving detailed system architecture and risk mitigation; ensuring airworthiness and safety; accelerating production through prototype and low-rate production phases; and supporting remotely deployed operations while forecasting resources with senior leadership. Requires senior engineering leadership, deep UAS expertise, and a track record of delivering DoD systems and maintaining required security clearances. Preferred candidates have aviation credentials (FAA/A&P) and extensive unmanned aircraft development experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in a highly relevant technical field
- Extensive experience in a senior leadership role guiding air vehicle programs from concept through testing and delivery
- Deep understanding of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) at and above Group 3 classification
- Track record of driving strategic technical direction within competitive landscapes
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. security clearance
- Experience working on mission-critical DoD systems
- Demonstrated ability to deliver critical capabilities aligned with programmatic outcomes
- Strong partnerships and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Desire to solve real-world problems for the warfighter
- FAA pilot’s license, A&P license, or related unmanned aircraft development experience (preferred)
