Job Summary
Oversee daily operation and maintenance of all engineering systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical. Lead, schedule, and support the engineering team while managing contractors and external inspections to ensure quality and timely work. Implement preventive maintenance programs for equipment, guest rooms, and public areas, and respond quickly to maintenance requests or emergencies to minimize operational disruption. Monitor and optimize energy use, utilities, and maintenance budgets, while keeping detailed records for capital planning. Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental standards, and legal requirements. Train your team on safety procedures and best practices. This role requires flexible hours, including weekends and on-call availability.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chief Engineer or similar role within hotels, resorts, or commercial buildings
- Strong knowledge of building services, plant equipment, and compliance requirements
- Hands-on leadership style
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call as required
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
