Job Summary
Lead the engineering department from the ground up for a 46m Feadship Explorer yacht during its final build stages, working closely with the shipyard and project office to ensure delivery in June 2027. Manage the transition to an expedition-style program featuring a diesel-electric propulsion system with Rolls-Royce azimuth pods, overseeing operations across the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Greenland, and the Northwest Passage. Support the onboard team through the construction phase and into long-term voyages, applying strong troubleshooting skills to maintain the vessel's advanced systems. Join the project starting mid-September 2026 with a 3:3 rotation beginning September 1, 2027, and receive provided accommodation near the shipyard.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3000 kW Chief Engineer license
- Previous experience on similar-sized yachts or new-build projects
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding abilities
- Hands-on, proactive team player with a positive attitude
- Comfortable working closely with the shipyard and project management team
- Excellent verifiable references
- Valid STCW and ENG1
- Fluent English
- Willing to undergo a criminal background check prior to employment
