Chief Electrical Technologist

Job Summary
Categorize electrical execution challenges with field personnel and identify solutions involving engineering design changes, emerging technology tools, and robotic automation. Interface with Electrical Engineering Design Functions across Business Units to improve constructability in design based on lessons learned from site visits. Lead electrical engineering installation initiatives to apply emerging technology solutions and establish Bechtel as a global leader in automated and robotic electrical execution. Maintain technical relationships with customers, suppliers, and manufacturers to guide new product development and deploy improved constructability. Provide technical direction for the electrical training program and develop a database of best practices to educate construction personnel. Actively engage with project teams to advocate for operating and capital funding that ensures the Electrical Program remains on the leading edge of design and installation technology.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent)
- 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree
- Extensive experience required in ANSI-NEMA and NEC codes
- Extensive field electrical installation and electrical systems experience incorporating execution, tools and efficiency while achieving quality installation performance
- Experience in commissioning, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems across project and facility lifecycles
- Experience in electrical design and development
- Experience in effective communication providing the analytical skills necessary to formulate technical responses effective within multiple levels of an organization
- Experience working as a team player in a multi-disciplined environment
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Chartered Engineer status preferred
- Construction-related licensure
- Master Electrician Certification
- graduate degree in electrical engineering or equivalent credentials considered a strong advantage
