Job Summary
Chief Deputy County Treasurer who supervises department staff under the County Treasurer, assists with staffing decisions including interviewing applicants and employee evaluations, and acts for the County Treasurer in their absence. Responsible for overseeing delinquent property tax activities (auction preparation, tax statements, tax searches, and issuance of tax deeds), coordinating information sharing with taxpayers and real estate professionals, and performing a range of accounting tasks (receipts, deposits, and financial reporting). Also assists with investment of county funds, supervises training and back-up coverage, and ensures proper handling of notices and audits. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), familiarity with BS&A software, and strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. Physical office duties include handling tax records, deposits, documentation, and customer service with taxpayers and other agencies.
