Job Summary
Establish and maintain the control environment for Data Privacy initiatives, ensuring alignment with firmwide risk appetite and governance frameworks. Identify, assess, and document key risks and controls in partnership with CDO business stakeholders, verifying that all controls are accurately reflected and maintained in the CORE platform. Lead risk assessments related to Data Privacy Initiatives, driving the timely identification, escalation, and remediation of control gaps while fostering a community of practice for Data-related Control Managers across LOBs and CFs. Serve as a subject matter expert on firmwide Data Privacy policies, providing authoritative guidance to business stakeholders and control partners to support the development and adoption of common controls.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of financial services experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, Data privacy or compliance
- Proficient knowledge of control and risk management concepts with the ability to design, create, and evaluate a Risk & Control Self-Assessment in conjunction with business partners
- Experience in identifying Risks associated with Data and required mitigating controls
- Understanding of the 3 lines of defense in banking institutions, Compliance, Conduct & Operational Risk Frameworks
- Independent self-starter, able to navigate ambiguity and exercise sound judgment in identifying critical issues and seeking relevant information
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote)
- ability to effectively communicate and articulate complex topics in a simpler way
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in GDPR, CCPA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Automated Decision-Making Technology (ADMT)
- Big4 Consulting experience
