Job Summary
Develop strategic and operational plans with key executives to achieve growth and profitability targets while managing all Argo Group claims operations across Casualty, Property, Reinsurance, Surety, and Workers' Compensation. Lead five direct reports and 150 indirect reports in establishing performance metrics, driving continuous improvement through process and technology initiatives, and implementing claims best practices including OFAC, Medicare Reporting, and SOX compliance. Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, and legal teams to formulate policies supporting group objectives, manage vendor contracts for financial benefit, and oversee enterprise-wide litigation management. Provide direction to senior management on claims drivers, trends, and cost containment strategies while maintaining operational excellence and consistent claims service delivery.
Required Qualifications
- J. D. from an accredited law school
- Accomplished and highly capable insurance professional
- Significant experience in a senior management commercial property and casualty claims role
- Organization with a full-scale domestic orientation
- Highly effective leadership skills
- Consistent record of superior results in leading a successful commercial claims organization
- Operations located throughout the United States and Bermuda
- Thorough understanding of property and casualty financial and actuarial concepts and requirements
- Influence on the claims reserving process and financial outcomes
- Experience in designing and implementing claims technology solutions
- Analytic and metric driven focus
- Strong strategy development and execution skills
- Ability to develop and provide corporate presentations to senior and executive claims management
