Job Summary
Lead financial operations and planning for Vanderbilt University’s Provost Central area, supervising Administrative Officers and coordinating with Vice Provosts and other leaders to develop annual and long-range capital and operating budgets, financial projections, and management reports. Act as the primary business advisor to senior leaders, develop policies and internal controls, and ensure alignment with university strategies. The role demands strong financial modeling, not-for-profit accounting knowledge (GAAP), collaboration across units, and the ability to recruit and retain a diverse team; knowledge of Oracle ERP/HCM systems and a CPA and/or MBA are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (Finance or Accounting preferred)
- Experience in financial operations and planning
- Strong budgeting and forecasting abilities
- Ability to distill complex data for management
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with not-for-profit accounting and GAAP is preferred
- Experience with Oracle ERP and HCM systems is preferred
- Management or supervisory experience in an academic setting is preferred
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or related discipline is preferred
- CPA license is preferred
