Job Summary
Chief Bridge Engineer sought to lead multi-disciplined transportation projects as Structures Project Manager, Engineer of Record, or Design Lead. Responsible for directing technical design across bridge and transportation structures, overseeing calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications; performing QA/QC reviews; leading pursuits with FDOT letters of response and technical interviews; supporting construction phase activities; and mentoring junior engineers. Requires ABET-accredited B.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering, PE and/or SE registration, extensive bridge-design experience, proficiency with bridge-design software and CADD tools, and strong leadership and communication skills. Preferred: M.S./MCE in Civil/Structural Engineering and FL PE/SE eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited university
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Structural Engineer
- 15+ years post-registration structural engineering experience
- 20+ years of relevant bridge design and plans production experience
- Experience with various bridge design software (FB Multi-Pier, Leap Bridge, Smartbridge, LARSA, CSI, STAAD, MDX, Shoring Suite, Atlas, and FDOT MathCAD)
- Proficiency with Microstation, GEOPAK, OpenBridge Modeler, AutoCAD or similar CADD platforms
- Ability to guide junior staff and participate in design and detailing of bridge projects
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history
