Chicago - Air & Ocean Import Supervisor

Supervise and mentor a team of 4 import specialists handling both air and ocean freight shipments, fostering accountability, accuracy, and continuous development. Oversee day-to-day operations across air and ocean import departments to ensure shipments are processed efficiently and compliantly, aligning with client expectations. Serve as the primary escalation point for complex shipment issues, customs holds, carrier delays, and client concerns, driving timely resolutions. Monitor workloads and performance metrics, identify gaps, and implement process improvements to increase throughput and reduce errors. Build and maintain relationships with airline partners, steamship lines, overseas agents, and CBP to facilitate cargo movement and clearance. Ensure full compliance with import regulations, TSA security requirements, and government guidelines across both modes. Collaborate with sales, account management, and customs brokerage teams to support new business onboarding and deliver a seamless client experience end to end. Potential career progression to Ops Manager.
