Job Summary
Conduct one-on-one and group online chess classes via Chess Gaja's LMS using Zoom, creating structured lesson plans tailored to each student's level. Monitor progress, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with the academic team to maintain consistent teaching standards. Continuously improve methods and stay updated with modern chess trends. Applications require a technical walkthrough of Lichess study creation followed by a 10-minute mock lesson on "Calculation" or "The Pin," uploaded to Google Drive with open-access permissions. Candidates must hold a FIDE rating of 1400 or above, be fluent in English, and possess a passion for teaching young children. A stable 50 Mbps internet connection and a desktop or laptop with a webcam are mandatory. Currently, we are hiring only Indian coaches, though international profiles are reviewed for future opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- FIDE rating of 1400 or above
- Fluent in English (spoken and instructional)
- Strong passion for teaching chess, especially to young children
- Comfortable with technology including ZOOM, Google Sheets, Lichess.org, ChessBase, and similar tools
- Stable internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps) and a desktop or laptop with a webcam
- Professional, committed, flexible, and open to learning
- Currently, we are hiring only INDIAN COACHES
- A Technical Walkthrough: Start the video by showing how you create a new Lichess study
- A Teaching Segment: Once the study is created, record an 10 minute mock lesson on either 'Calculation' or 'The Pin'
- Camera & Audio: Ensure your camera is turned on throughout the recording and that your instructions are clear
- Upload your video to Google Drive (or a similar service) along with your updated resume
- Ensure the link is set to 'Anyone with the link can view' so our team can access it without requesting permission
