Job Summary
The Chemo Prep Tech is responsible for maintaining the efficient operations of the admixture area, including the safe preparation of medications and managing inventory. Key functions include accurately retrieving and reviewing medication orders, performing necessary mathematical calculations, and aseptically preparing drug solutions according to strict clean room guidelines. The role requires continued professional education, maintaining relevant clinical logs, collaborating with the healthcare team, and serving as a drug information resource to clinical staff. The position also mandates a commitment to safety standards in handling potentially hazardous drugs and engagement in the training of new hires.
Required Qualifications
- A professionally certified pharmacy technician
- TN State Pharmacy Technician license active and in good standing or obtained within 90 days of hire if not previously licensed in TN
- Chemotherapy admixture experience strongly preferred
