Job Summary
Operate instrumentation and assist with maintenance of preparatory equipment while maintaining daily logs and equipment record books. Document information accurately into the Laboratory Information Management System and report quality issues to senior staff. Prepare reagents and AQC's in accordance with internal procedures, ensuring good laboratory practice and housekeeping. Participate in auditing internal practices to ensure compliance with the management system and contribute to key tasks within the chemistry section. Work 37 hours a week between 8am-8pm, split between 9am-5pm and late shifts. Achieve deadlines and service level agreements with consistent outputs while demonstrating task prioritization and flexibility to meet demand.
Required Qualifications
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Chemistry or another closely related subject
- Excellent numeracy, literacy, computer literacy and skills to engage in robust laboratory practice
- It is necessary for you to have the legal right to work in the UK when you begin employment with South East Water
- As part of the employment offer, you will need to pass background, identity, and employment referencing checks
