Job Summary
Conduct analysis of water, ores, minerals, soil, and concrete samples using equipment such as spectrophotometers and furnaces. Prepare reagents, standard solutions, and manage instrument calibration while ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 and HSE standards. Perform qualitative and quantitative tests, issue reports, and interact with clients during witnessed testing. Drive to customer sites to collect samples or conduct testing at their laboratories on a daily basis. Coordinate with team members to execute work plans and assist in departmental targets as requested.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in chemistry
- At least 2 years experience in similar role
- Ability to work in teams under pressure
- Flexible to work different working hours (night / day) shifts if required or necessary
- Good English communication skills: reading, writing, speaking
- Good maths skills
- Knowledge and experience of safe operation of testing equipment
- Experience operating in an independent / chemistry / consultant laboratory
