Job Summary
Chemistry Pre-AP Teacher at IDEA Mission College Prep responsible for implementing state standards and IDEA curricula, delivering content for high school chemistry and college-credit options (dual-enrollment/AP/IB), submitting weekly lesson plans, conducting formal and informal assessments, communicating progress to families, utilizing technology to enhance learning, and maintaining a productive classroom environment. Roles include after-school tutoring/Saturday school as needed, dedicating 40+ hours per week on site, and engaging in district- and campus-wide initiatives while upholding IDEA’s mission and values.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (required)
- State certification preferred but not required
- K-12 classroom experience preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required)
- State certification preferred but not required
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior
- Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred)
