Job Summary
Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of water samples using advanced laboratory equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. Evaluate existing methods, develop new protocols, and maintain state and federal certification while ensuring acceptable precision and accuracy. Document chemical supplies, perform preventive maintenance on instruments, and manage daily Quality Control files including data review and entry. Adhere to all safety and security protocols, including reporting during emergency situations or inclement weather. Maintain a clean, controlled work environment while interpreting results and keeping accurate logs. Requires a Bachelor's degree in chemistry, one year of related experience, and a valid Texas driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or a related science
- One year of work experience in a related field
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Knowledge of chemical analyses, techniques and laboratory procedures, and equipment used
- Ability to interpret results of analyses and maintain accurate logs and records
- Knowledge of basic computer usage and programs
- Must be able to document work accurately
- Must be able to perform data entry into computer software systems
- Must pass a physical and physical ability assessment specific to this position
