Job Summary
Process Control Chemist monitors, analyzes, and improves production processes to ensure consistent quality and efficiency. Applies process engineering, chemistry, SPC, and Six Sigma knowledge while collaborating with production, quality, and plant leadership to achieve first-pass quality and continuous improvement goals. Key duties include monitoring and controlling production processes, collecting and interpreting process data to identify trends, leading process trials and validation activities, applying SPC and Six Sigma tools to improve process capability, partnering with Quality to investigate defects and implement corrective and preventive actions, developing and maintaining formulation recipes and production calculations, performing root cause analyses, preparing and presenting reports, and promoting a safe, compliant work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred; equivalent experience considered
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in process control, manufacturing, or technical engineering roles
- Experience in paint, ink, pigment, dispersion, or chemical manufacturing environments strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of SPC methodologies and statistical analysis
- Experience with Six Sigma tools and continuous improvement techniques
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Minitab or similar statistical software preferred
- SAP experience a plus
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
