Chemist I

Chemist I at Neogen documents: sets up, mixes and/or delivers production chemicals used in a manufacturing or process area where accuracy of chemical composition is important; operates autoclaves, preparators, and pressurized kettles; works from written and verbal instructions; removes and disposes of waste chemicals, solvents and acids; performs upkeep and cleaning of laboratory spaces, equipment, and glassware; handles SAP transactions for consumption of materials used; may be required to clean up chemical spills. Role follows an onsite model with third shift hours (Sunday–Wednesday, 8:00pm-6:30am; occasional Thursday overtime with 48-hour notice). Education/experience: college education (preferred) with 1-3 years related work experience or hands-on college laboratory experience.
