Job Summary
Chemist I, Food Chemistry at SGS performs sample handling and analyses according to established Operating Procedures and test methodologies, maintains and verifies equipment, reports deficiencies, maintains quality records, and records nonconformities on corrective action requests. The role emphasizes analytical thinking, ability to follow defined methods while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, and collaboration with supervisors to resolve QC issues such as chromatography or sample homogeneity problems. Preferred experience includes Metals and Minerals analysis by ICPMS; candidates typically hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field and have 3+ years of lab/bench experience. The position requires applying defined procedures, documenting changes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer specifications. Must be able to operate within the laboratory environment and contribute to accurate data reporting and quality assurance activities.
