Job Summary
Unload railcars and tank trucks, open and fill chemical tanks, and mix chemicals according to the daily pouring schedule. Operate a forklift to transport chemicals from vehicles to storage, recharge batteries, and assist with monthly inventory. Monitor the dam during start-ups, relieve the cut-off saw operator, and troubleshoot problems during runs. Collect lot number tickets for the SAP system and maintain strainers and filters on a regular basis. Requires forklift certification, basic math skills, and ability to read certificates of analysis. Flexible hours, overtime, and weekend availability are mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read a tape measure
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Must be able to work flexible hours, overtime, holidays, weekend, and call-in with little notice
- Must have entry level computer knowledge
- Must obtain a Carpenter Company Forklift Certification
- Must take and pass a pulmonary test on an annual basis
- Must be able to use basic hand tools
- Must have the ability to read Certificates of Analysis
- Must operate a forklift
- Must obtain a Carpenter Company Forklift Certification
- Must be able to operate safety sensitive equipment
- Must be able to open and close all tank farms and BA-5 valves daily
- Must mix chemicals as required by a daily production pouring schedule
- Must open and fill all chemical tanks as required by a daily pouring schedule
- Must unloads railcars and tank trucks as required
- Must monitor and observe the dam during pouring start-ups
- Must relieve the cut-off saw operator during pouring runs
- Must clean strainers and change filters on a regularly scheduled basis
- Must perform job functions in a safe and efficient manner
- Must troubleshoot problems during the pouring run
- Must collect all lot number tickets on all drum chemicals used for input into the SAP system
- Must recharge forklift batteries and/or propane tanks as instructed
- Must operate a forklift per all applicable laws and regulations in a safe manner
- Must assist with monthly inventory, as necessary
- Must pick up trash and discarded material as required
- Must be able to work in a normal plant environment with exposure to chemical fumes and temperature changes
