Job Summary
The Chemical Receiver handles the accurate receipt, documentation, and organization of incoming chemicals and materials to support warehouse operations, ensure safety and GMP compliance, and assist with inventory management. Responsibilities include verifying shipments, inspecting for accuracy and quality, entering receipts into inventory systems, generating labels, maintaining records, resolving discrepancies, checking in small package deliveries, facilitating movement and staging of materials, operating forklifts and related equipment, maintaining a safe work area with PPE, training others in receiving processes, labeling and segregating hazardous chemicals, coordinating with EHS for proper storage, supporting audits, participating in spill response and emergency drills, acting as a point of contact during receiving-related emergencies, and identifying process improvements. Duties may vary by location.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent (Preferred)
- Forklift Certification (Preferred)
- 1-3 years forklift operation (Preferred)
- 1-3 years proficient in basic computer functions and inventory management systems. (Preferred)
- 1-3 years good mathematical skills for inventory reconciliation and documentation. (Preferred)
- 1-3 years knowledge of hazardous material handling and chemical safety protocols (Preferred)
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment. (High proficiency)
- Verbal and written skills to coordinate with team members and vendors. (High proficiency)
- Ability to accurately inspect, document, and catalog incoming materials. (High proficiency)
- Proficient in using inventory systems to track, update, and verify shipments. (Medium proficiency)
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in shipments or processes. (Medium proficiency)
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and safe material handling practices, particularly with hazardous chemicals. (Medium proficiency)
- Skill in maintaining clean, orderly workspaces and filing systems for documentation. (Medium proficiency)
- Knowledge of receiving processes, documentation, and inspection. (Low proficiency)
- Licenses and Certifications: Forklift Certification (Preferred)
- Education Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent (Preferred)
- Experience Qualifications: 1-3 years of forklift operation (Preferred)
- Experience Qualifications: 1-3 years proficient in basic computer functions and inventory management systems. (Preferred)
