Job Summary
Chemical Production Operator responsible for operating reactors and production equipment to execute batch manufacturing of chemical products per established procedures and production schedules. Monitors process conditions, control systems, and key performance indicators to maintain safe, efficient, and consistent operations. Weighs, verifies, and charges raw materials; transfers intermediates and finished goods; verifies materials meet batch specifications. Reads data from instruments (temperature, pressure, flow) to adjust processes and maintains product quality and compliance with cGMP, FDA, OSHA, and company policies. Documents batch data and activities according to GDP; maintains clean, organized work areas; supports EHS programs and contributes to zero-incident safety culture. Safely operates forklifts and material handling equipment; provides technical support to chemists and engineers; assists with process troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and new production techniques; participates in process trials, new product development, and inventory management. Trains and mentors operators as proficiency increases; collaborates across shifts and departments for reliable operations; rotating 36-/48-hour workweeks with 12-hour shifts. This role is open to progression from Introductory Operator through Senior levels based on demonstrated competency and training.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Forklift experience and GMP training preferred (not required)
- Ability to operate forklifts and material handling equipment
- Basic computer, PLC & math skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Attention to detail and compliance with GMP/ GDP/ FDA/ OSHA
